The Publica.la shopping cart system enables users to purchase various products and subscriptions with flexible purchase flows and payment methods.

Supported Products in Cart

• Products with prices (including promotional prices)
• Recurring subscriptions (with or without private prices)
• One-time subscriptions (with or without private prices)
• Subscriptions with both private and public prices

Note: Users can add only one subscription per cart.

Purchase Entry Points

• From product pages → add to cart
• From subscription pages or direct links → add to cart
• From gifts page → checkout payment links (not yet supported in cart)
• From reader → checkout payment links (pending cart integration)

Purchase Flows

• Add to Cart: Add items and continue browsing
• Buy Now: Add item and immediately go to checkout

Cart-Based Purchases

1. Standard purchase flow: Product → Cart → Checkout → Payment → Thank you
2. 100% discount coupon flow: Product → Cart → Coupon → Checkout → Thank you
3. Partial discount coupon flow: Product → Cart → Coupon → Checkout → Payment → Thank you
4. Subscription purchase flow: Subscription → Cart → Checkout → Payment → Thank you
5. Subscription with full discount: Subscription → Cart → Coupon → Checkout → Thank you
6. Subscription with partial discount: Subscription → Cart → Coupon → Checkout → Payment → Thank you
7. Free subscription flow: Subscription without price → Cart → 100% Coupon → Checkout → Thank you

• Direct Gift Purchases: Gift page → Checkout payment links → Payment → Thank you

Payment Processing

• Automatic gateway selection based on currency, location, and payment methods
• Supports credit/debit cards (Stripe/MercadoPago), local payment methods, and alternatives
• Multi-currency support with automatic conversion when applicable

Cart Rules and Restrictions

• Only one product per cart when using 100% discount coupons
• Coupons must be applied before payment and cannot be combined
• Shipping costs and address required only for physical products
• Some purchases may have registration delays or temporary access restrictions

Automatic Checkout Feature

Supports direct purchase links that clear the cart, add the product, and open checkout automatically, with optional parameters for currency, coupon, and subscription interval.
